Today we announced two key additions to the ICX Media team. Scott Bowen has joined as our first President & COO, and Laura Lang has joined our Board of Directors. Laura and Scott will each bring tremendous experience and insights to our team as we continue to build ICX Media into the industry-leading video intelligence platform and data-driven creative marketplace for video creators, media companies and brands.

Throughout his career, Scott has led entrepreneurial teams both at start-up businesses and within much larger corporations. Scott joins the ICX Media team most recently from Vistaprint, where he was VP & GM of Digital Services, leading the company’s digital marketing SaaS business lines focused on small and media sized businesses. Scott’s many accomplishments at Vistaprint included the integration and then the management of Webs, an early pioneer in website development and management for small businesses and individuals. As working in media and technology can sometimes feel like a small world, it just so happens that I was an investor in Webs and on its board prior to its acquisition by Vistaprint. I heard rave reviews from the Webs team about Scott’s leadership ability and strategic skillset, and I am very excited to finally have an opportunity to work directly with him.

Prior to Vistaprint, Scott held a number of executive roles, including his role as Co-Founder, President and the COO of Artesia Technologies, an early digital media technology leader that Scott helped spin out of The Thompson Corporation and ultimately sold to OpenText. Artesia provided video and data technology and services to many of the same large media companies and brands that ICX Media is working with today, giving Scott a wealth of highly relevant experience in our market. I am confident that Scott’s deep media experience and relationships will help us accelerate ICX Media’s client pipeline and rapid growth.

Scott is a seasoned leader across a number of disciplines, having led sales, marketing, business development and operations teams. He also has extensive experience in product and engineering. In his short time with us, Scott has already become a critical business partner to my co-founders, Steve McCord and Joey McCord, and me as we ramp up our go-to-market efforts in 2018 and beyond. We couldn’t be more excited for Scott to join our executive team.

When we began looking for an outside board member to join our board, I could only have hoped to bring on someone as accomplished as Laura Lang. Laura is revered in the marketing and publishing industries, having served as CEO and President of Digitas, the first major digital marketing agency, and Time, Inc., the iconic publisher and media brand. At Digitas, Laura was involved in literally creating an entirely new approach to marketing and advertising as Digitas helped lead the digital marketing revolution. She was one of the drivers behind “Digital Content NewFronts,” the digital alternative to the television “Upfronts” for brand advertisers, in the earlier days of digital marketing.

Laura and I have spent many months talking about why the intersection of data, technology and storytelling is so important for marketers and for traditional media companies. Laura’s experience and strategic understanding of the market has helped us shape our product and our go-to-market strategy as we have officially launched our enterprise offering for brands and media companies and enhanced our offerings for digital video creators, filmmakers and influencers.

Together, Laura and Scott bring to ICX Media a new set of skills and experiences that fit our mission of enabling data inspired storytelling. When I talked to our team at an all hands meeting last week to introduce Scott and Laura, I told them that more than two and a half years after founding ICX Media, we are now shifting from being a “start-up” that was in product development mode to emerging as a leader in our market, helping to transform the way that brands, media & entertainment companies and independent creators do business. Now that our products and services are out of “beta” and now that we have added this incredible talent to our executive team and to our board, I believe that ICX Media is poised for really exciting accomplishments in 2018 and beyond. Stay tuned for additional exciting announcements in the coming weeks! And once again, welcome to Scott and Laura!
