Bobby Campbell was born in Albany, Missouri, where as a young child he grew up in the middle of cornfields on a small farm with his mom, Janis Campbell, and his loving grandparents, Eldon and Jane Gillespie. Later he moved with his parents to Columbia, Missouri, and attended college at the University of Missouri where he graduated with a creative writing degree. After college, he came across an opportunity to enter the new field of Digital Advertising. In 2003, he raised $20,000 to launch Division-D, which helps national advertisers plan and manage their marketing initiatives. Division-D capitalized on the exploding digital advertising industry and was named to the Inc. 5000 list of Fastest Growing Companies in 2012 and 2014.
In 2010, he launched his second start-up, AdKarma a leading video ssp helping over 20,000 publishers manage and maximize their video advertising. Adkarma soon became one of the fastest growing private coming in the U.S. being ranked #31 on Inc. 500’s 2014 list of fastest growing companies. AdKarma was acquired by multi-national mobile advertising and content leader blinkx in 2015. In 2014 he founded Tasty Productions a full-service video production studio dedicated to creating high-quality short form content that covers a wide variety of verticals targeting Millennials and Gen Z.
Bobby is also a columnist and has been published in publications across the world including Forbes, Entrepeneur.com, Business Insider, and Venture Beat, where he writes about business and the changing nature of content. Most recently, Bobby launched Good Wizard Productions to focus on developing new long form, tech-enabled content.
