Previously, Steven was Senior Vice President of Product and Technology at Millennial Media, the leading independent mobile advertising platform company. As one of the earlier employees at Millennial Media, he worked directly with the CEO and CTO to lead and manage all new product development and prototyping initiatives from strategic conceptualization to the operationalization of those concepts. In addition, he was accountable for all new research and development efforts that ultimately lead to every major product innovation for the company, from the early startup days to the eventual IPO that saw the company going public. Furthermore, he eventually took over and lead all of product and engineering post IPO to ensure more quality delivery cycles, better communication across the organization, and introduce prioritization processes to ingest business and technical projects.
Prior to Millennial Media, Steven oversaw and managed a multitude of development initiatives from conceptualization to realization of those concepts in the forward moving industry of Location Based Services, which helped to enable location/GPS in all mobile platforms, for Verizon. This included expediting market research in order to prove development projects and owning the financial and budgeting responsibilities for these development projects. These development initiatives involved interaction with multiple cross functional teams inside and outside of a Fortune 20 company to develop internal and external development requirements, ensure these requirements comply with all legal regulations, ensure all external vendors met dates, and managed and delegated operational activities such as training and technical support in order to successfully commercial launch products.
Earlier in his career, Steven oversaw multiple roles and responsibilities, beginning with the development and implementation of client-specific software for an entrepreneurial wireless technology consulting firm, transitioning to directing and managing all IT decisions, including software and hardware implementation decisions.
Steven has a BS from George Mason University and a MBA from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech).
